Compliance: our 'business as usual'

BT policy is to comply fully with the regulatory regimes under which the BT Group operates, while - at the same time - encouraging innovation and embodying BT's competitive spirit.

BT Group has a Compliance team which is responsible for ensuring that compliance is "business" as usual' and that best practice is employed and shared throughout BT Group.

The compliance team’s key activities include:

Training and communications

• in training and communications programmes to ensure that all BT people understand their regulatory compliance obligations.
• Keeping BT senior managers up to date with the legal and regulatory changes affecting their business units.

Processes

• Developing initiatives and programmes to ensure compliance in those markets in which BT is deemed to have ‘significant market power’ or deemed to be ‘of significance to other Communication Providers’.
• Ensuring that regulatory compliance sign-off is a formal part of the delivery of key initiatives and processes.

The BT Undertakings Complaints Process

BT has put in place processes to ensure that any complaints raised by Communication Providers in relation to the Undertakings are managed effectively.
